David Peretz

Managing Partner

Dave is a CPA with almost sixty years experience. He is proud of having begun the firm alone in 1987, and then watching it grow to more than 25 people, achieving the rank of one of the seven largest CPA firms in Westchester County. Before founding our firm, he was a partner in Gang & Co. (now KPMG), and Shulman, Cohen & Furst. He holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and has served on various professional committees including the Federal Tax Committee of the Westchester Chapter of the New York State Society of CPAs. Dave considers taxation to be his special area of expertise and is heavily involved in accounting, auditing and financial consulting. His largest clients are in the real estate business. Dave is also a member of the AICPA and is active in community affairs.

David Resnick


Dave is a CPA in practice for almost sixty years. He specializes in personal, corporate, partnership, trust and estate taxation, and has successfully represented many clients at audits before the IRS and NYS. His practice supports a wide range of clientele, many of whom have been with him for decades. Dave joined the firm in 2000. Before that, he held partnership positions in NYC and White Plains firms. He received a B.A. from Brooklyn College, and is a member of the AICPA and New York State Society of CPAs.

Robert Mitgang


Bob is a CPA and has been with the firm for over thirty years. With almost forty years of public accounting experience, he works closely with an expanding array of technology and service clientele in the areas of development of accounting systems and policies, development of internal controls, financial statement preparation, and corporate and individual tax planning. He also supports numerous startup clients. Bob is a member of the New York State Society of CPAs and the AICPA. He has served as a director and president of not-for profit organizations and has been a guest speaker at numerous seminars and functions. Prior to joining our firm, Bob spent six years at the accounting firm of Friedman, Alpren and Green. He received a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Binghamton in 1985.

Carl Marcus


Prior to joining the firm in 2010, Carl was a sole practitioner for nearly thirty years. He began his professional career working at several small CPA firms, moving later to S.D. Leidesdorf (a forerunner to Ernst and Young). He also was employed as assistant controller of a conglomerate in Westchester County and for several years, owned and operated a food distribution business while maintaining his tax practice. This experience has provided him with insight into managing a small business and helping his clients to resolve operational problems as well as accounting and tax issues. Carl's practice is diverse, specializing in accounting and tax services for small businesses, individuals and not-for-profit organizations. These services include tax and financial statement preparation as well as tax planning, bookkeeping and payroll services. Carl takes pride in his hands-on people oriented approach to his clients. Carl earned a BBA degree at City College and an MBA in Finance at Columbia University. Carl has been a certified public accountant since 1971. He has been involved in various local business and fraternal organizations and has been a member of Temple Beth Am in Yorktown Heights for more than thirty years. Carl has served on the Board of Directors of several of these organizations and is currently serving on the Board of Directors for several arts-oriented tax-exempt organizations. Carl is a member of the AICPA, including the PCPS section of the AICPA, the NYS Society of CPAs, and the National Conference of CPA Practitioners.

Mark Hausner


Mark attended Queens College of the City University of New York, and has been with the firm for over thirty years. He specializes in individual tax planning, tax return preparation, real estate, and closely-held businesses. Before joining our firm, Mark worked for ten years as a manager for a large NYC CPA firm. His experience in the real estate industry reflects extensive work in handling cooperative and condominium conversion properties, residential and commercial properties and new construction and acquisitions. Mark holds board positions at various not-for-profits, including JCC of Rockland and Bronx House.

Harry Smith

Peretz, Resnick, Smith & Co., Inc.

In 2009, Harry merged his practice with Peretz, Resnick & Co., LLP creating Peretz, Resnick, Smith & Co., Inc. Previously, he was a sole practitioner of the accounting firm, Harry G. Smith, Inc., located in New City, NY, which he founded in 1984. Harry has worked in public accounting for over forty-five years. His expertise is in the areas of tax return preparation, corporate and individual tax planning, retirement planning, and the preparation of financial statements. He has worked extensively with businesses in the medical field, manufacturing, construction, real estate as well as a variety of startup companies. He received a B.S. in Accounting from Herbert H. Lehman College of the City University of New York in 1974.

Louis A. Papaleo

Peretz, Resnick, Papaleo & Co., Inc.

Joining our firm in December 2018, Lou has spent the last 43 years as the owner of Papaleo and Company, an accounting and tax consultation firm in Westchester. Lou is Enrolled to Practice before the Internal Revenue Service and a National Tax Practice Institute Fellow. His areas of expertise include all areas of tax preparation and taxpayer representation before both the Audit and the Collection Divisions of the IRS, as well as various state agencies. Lou received his Bachelor of Science and his Master of Business Administration degrees from Iona College

Kristin Krauskopf

Peretz, Resnick, Krauskopf & Co., Inc.

Joining the firm in January 2020, Kristin has provided accounting and tax services to the small business community since 1981. Before starting her own firm, she was a comptroller of The New York Review of Books, a book review biweekly. Drawing on this background, Kris is a small business troubleshooter. As a QuickBooks ProAdvisor she helps clients use QuickBooks as a tool to manage their small business or exempt organization. She has expertise with publishers, service businesses, exempt organizations and real estate entities. Kris has served on the National Board of the Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance. She is past Chairperson of the Local Practitioners Committee of the NYSSCPAs. In the community, she has participated on the boards of several tax-exempt organizations. Kristin received a B.S. in accounting from New York Institute of Technology and passed the CPA exam on her first attempt.

Rhonda Margolin

Managing Director

Before joining the firm as its first staff accountant in 1993, Rhonda worked for fifteen years in the retail industry as a Regional Auditor and VP of Retail Operations. Because of this extensive background in retail, she works closely with many of our small business clients in that industry, as well as those in real estate. Rhonda provides a variety of accounting services including individual and business tax preparation, and oversees and manages the preparation and filing of a large volume of the firm's payroll and sales tax returns. She has served as chairwoman on many committees for various not-for-profits, and is a notary public in the State of New Jersey. Rhonda attended Queens College of the City University of New York. Rhonda splits her time between the Tarrytown and New City offices. She manages the day to day operations at New City.

Professional and Administrative Staff

Steven B. Adams

Steve is a CPA specializing in individual and business income tax preparation. Before joining the firm in 2013, he was a principal in a consulting firm that specialized in financial forecasts and projections, as well as financial transaction systems design and implementation.  He is a co-inventor of a patented collect on delivery payment system.  Steve began his career working at American Express and MasterCard. He brings a wealth of knowledge to our team with over 30 years of experience in accounting and finance. Steve earned his BBA, MBA (with Distinction), and Doctorate from Pace University.

Fredda Alcheh

Fredda comes to the firm after working for several years for the public schools in Rockland County, NY. She holds a bachelor?s degree in accounting from CUNY- Queens College. Fredda has been working freelance for the firm over the last several years, and has now taken on a full time position as a staff accountant. She will be working in many different accounting and bookkeeping capacities.

Joyce Bidnick

Joyce joined the firm in 2020. She has over thirty years' experience in the accounting and bookkeeping fields, maintaining accounts payable, receivable, payroll, general ledgers, and other financial records. She also prepares income tax returns and is a Notary Public. Joyce's work has taken her to several business entities in private industry during her career, including the real estate, investing and professional services sectors. She is extremely proficient in QuickBooks and Excel, and is highly knowledgeable in most other Microsoft Office software. Joyce attended City College at The City University of New York.

Christopher Carr

Chris is a CPA who graduated from Villanova University. He is an experienced tax and accounting professional, with a strong background in tax preparation for high net worth individuals, corporations, partnerships and estates. He also has proficiency in multistate and multinational income tax returns, sales tax returns, and a variety of business taxes in the tri-state area. In addition, Chris is experienced in financial statement preparation, developing and maintaining accounting systems, and preparation of audited financial statements. Chris is a member of the AICPA.

Benjamin T. Child

Ben has been a CPA since 1991. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Pace University, with special honors for the highest GPA of anyone in the Accounting Information Systems major. Ben also has an MBA from Pace University in Management Science. He joined the staff with Carl Marcus in 2010. Prior to that, Ben was a partner in a small accounting firm in Irvington, NY.

Serdar Demir

Serdar worked in academia prior to joining our firm in 2021. He has experience in the areas of individual and business taxation, administrative sciences and human resource management. Serdar works with QuickBooks, Microsoft Office and other software packages. He has his master's accreditations from the German University of Administrative Sciences and the University of Illinois, and he has his Doctorate from Ankara University. Serdar speaks 3 languages and has passed all parts of the CPA exam.

Lynn M. Goldstein

Lynn began her career in accounting/bookkeeping upon her graduation from the University at Albany. In her capacity as a full charge bookkeeper, she has worked at various small businesses and several accounting firms doing both in-house and client bookkeeping. In 2005 Lynn joined Carl Marcus’s practice, and later moved with him to our firm in 2010. She provides monthly write-up services to a variety of clients, and is proficient in payroll processing, as well as payroll and sales tax preparation.

Andrew Gordon

Andrew joined the firm in 2020 after spending 30 years in the direct marketing and analytics industries. This solid background in cost management and marketing, provided him with proficiency to execute his current accounting functions. Andrew is involved in tax return preparation, bookkeeping, and financial analysis work to aid our clients. He is experienced with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office software. Andrew earned both a BA and MA from the University at Buffalo. He is enjoying his career change and looks forward to continuing his new career path.

Adam Hausner

Adam graduated from The George Washington University with a Bachelors of Accountancy. His professional career in public accounting has provided him with extensive experience in individual, corporate and not-for-profit tax preparation, financial statement preparation and auditing. Adam left public accounting for a few years to exercise his entrepreneurial spirit in the hospitality industry before joining our firm full time in September 2016.

Alan Hazan

Before joining the firm, Alan spent approximately 30 years as an accounting clerk and finance coordinator for a major CPA firm in New York City. He then spent more than 3 years as a bookkeeper for a non-profit healthcare facility in Jersey City. Alan will be providing write-up services to various clients along with other bookkeeping functions. He is proficient in several software programs including QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel. Alan attended Queens College of the City University of New York.

Janet Himmelfarb

Janet joined our firm in 2019, when Levy & Associates was acquired. She continues in the New City Office with 21 years of experience as Office Manager. Janet's conscientiousness, hard work and dedication produced her successful rise to her current managerial role. In addition to her administrative work and her regular client interfacing roles, Janet's current office responsibilities also include assisting with write-ups, inputting payroll and sales tax returns, and coordinating the myriad of necessary steps to achieve successful e-filing. Janet graduated from Western New England University in Springfield, MA with a B.A. degree in Sociology.

Randi Kahn

Before joining the firm in 2021, Randi worked for many years as a teacher in a public school system on Long Island. This prior work experience provided her with the skill set necessary for her administrative role with the firm, including keen analytical ability, strong planning and organization skills, and a detail-oriented nature. Randi inputs tax data and is well versed with QuickBooks and many Microsoft Office applications. She is excited about her change of career and looks forward to being part of the firm's team for years to come.

Jennifer R. Kearney

Jennifer has been with the firm since 2000. She has been a CPA since 1991 and holds an MBA in Accounting from New York University and a BS in Mathematics from Trinity College. She began her career at Deloitte & Touche and has also worked in private industry, as an assistant controller in the mutual fund division of Paine Webber (now UBS). Jennifer has been a QuickBooks Pro Advisor since 2007 and currently oversees all IT functions at the firm, in addition to providing tax and accounting services to clients. She is a member of the AICPA and the New York State Society of CPAs.

Lewis Lind

Lewis rejoined our team in 2020. He worked for many years as both an independent auditor and accountant since his graduation from Lehman College of the City University of NY in 1973. Lewis holds a BS in Accounting. His prior work experience was both diversified and extensive, commencing with five years at Price Waterhouse, followed by twenty years in the Finance department of the worldwide headquarters of a Christian ministry based in Ohio. Lewis' strong accounting and leadership skills prompted his rapid rise to the role of the ministry's CFO. Lewis is a QuickBooks Online Pro Advisor with an emphasis in small business start-ups. He provides a wide variety of client services including all areas of tax preparation, planning, and compliance, with a concentration in the not-for-profit sector.

Melita Love

Melita joined the firm in 1999. She has been a CPA since 2005 and graduated from the State University of New York at New Paltz with a BS in Accounting. Melita has served on the board of directors of local community organizations and held positions in both the public and private arenas. She has worked with a wide variety of business and individual clientele at the firm. She assists our clients with a number of different accounting services including tax preparation and planning, auditing, and QuickBooks consulting.

Rosemary Mills

Rosemary began her career in the insurance industry working there for eighteen years. In 2001 she joined Carl Marcus's practice, and later moved with him to our firm in 2010. Rosemary is part of our office administrative staff.

Matthew Pace

Matthew graduated from New Paltz State University with a Double Major Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Finance. He joined our firm in 2019. Matthew is an experienced Senior Accountant with 10+ years of relevant experience working in the field of accounting, tax and financial reporting. While being well versed in a variety of accounting software, he is QuickBooks certified which he uses to help and train many clients navigate the many challenges of managing their own books. Matthew's passion for helping business owners and individuals manage and grow their financial well-being shows through his dedication to his clients. Matthew works in our New City office.

Laurie Pennella

Laurie joined the firm in 2012 as our receptionist, and her goal has continually been to provide excellent customer service to each of our clients. She has worked in the administration field for over 8 years. Laurie handles our complex phone system with ease, effectively coordinates the purchase of the firm’s office supplies, collates tax returns, and prepares correspondence. For the first half of her career, Laurie worked at National Westminster Bank as administrative assistant to one of the firm’s senior vice presidents. She is proficient at a variety of software including QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Word and Access.

Daniel S. Peretz

Daniel joined our firm as a full time staff accountant in January of 2011 after consulting for our firm for several years. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in political science, has a J.D. and L.L.M. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, and is an attorney admitted in NYS since 2005. Daniel is currently attending the Fordham University Graduate School of Business to obtain his M.S. in taxation. In the future he would like to become a tax specialist. Daniel currently provides client services including tax, accounting and bookkeeping consulting.

Immacolata “Mickey” Perri

Mickey joined the firm in 2018 after 20 years of administrative experience with Papaleo & Company. She started her tenure there as clerical assistant graduating to customer service, collating and bookkeeper. She is proficient in QuickBooks & Microsoft Office.

Joanne Resnick

Joanne has been in public accounting for over forty years. After leaving Price Waterhouse in 1983, she joined her father's (Dave Resnick) practice and has been with him ever since. Joanne has been with our firm since 2000. She specializes in individual, business, and fiduciary income taxes, estate taxes, payroll taxes, and has expertise with QuickBooks, Sage/Peachtree, Microsoft Office and Adobe software. Joanne is a Cum Laude graduate of Pace University.

Brittany Shamro

Brittany graduated from SUNY New Paltz with her BS in Accounting. She has experience in auditing and preparing individual, business, and not-for-profit tax returns. Brittany is also proficient in programs such as QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel. She is currently working on getting her CPA and passing the exam.

Richard Silver

Richie has been a part of the firm since 2010. He graduated from Plattsburgh State University with a BS in Accounting. Richie is proficient in programs such as QuickBooks and Creative Solutions Accounting. He has extensive experience in individual, corporate, payroll, and not-for-profit tax preparation.

Linda Vogel

Linda has been a CPA since 1978. She joined our firm in 2019 when our company bought Levy and Associates for whom she worked since 2002. She has extensive experience in small business accounting, sales and payroll taxes as well as fiduciary and estate taxes. Prior to going back to public accounting after having children, she worked for 2 years as Accounting Manager for ADT. She graduated from Lehman College with a BA in Accounting. Linda works in our New City office.

Diana Von Ronn

Diana has been with the firm since 2007. She graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Master of Science in Accountancy degree. She is currently working to pass the CPA exam and to become a CPA. Diana provides a range of accounting services and is proficient in individual, business, fiduciary, and not-for-profit tax preparation.  She is skilled in a variety of software including QuickBooks, Creative Solutions Accounting, and Microsoft Excel.
